6 DAY GORILLA SAFARI
ALT 01
DAY 1*
Break-fast, early morning drive to Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park in
Western Uganda. It will be a fairly long day in the vehicle
passing the
Equator, some interesting scenery, farmland and lush green
hillsides. You
will have a stopover at Lake Mburo National Park for lunch
and if you
prefer, some little activities. Continue with your journey.
Check into your
choosen tented Camp. Dinner and overnight. FB
DAY 2*
Early breakfast, then an early morning trek into the
forest, led by
experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of
Mountain Gorillas.
These massive primates are extremely rare. There are 326
Gorillas in Bwindi
National Park. You will get within metres of the family and
be privileged to
spend time amongst them. The trekking may be fairly
strenuous up to six
hours or longer. However, it can take as few as 30 minutes
on location and
luck of the day. Mountain gorillas are wild animals as
such, sightings
cannot be guaranteed, how-ever the success rate is well
over 90%. Back to
your tented Camp, Dinner and overnight. FB*
DAY 3 *
Breakfast and depart for Queen Elizabeth National
Park.
The drive takes 3-4
hours. En-route you will have an excellent view of Mt
Rwenzori footings as
you enter the National Park. You might also catch a
glimpse of wildlife as
you the National Park too. You will be in time for lunch.
After you lunch,
you can have some rest. In the evening you will go for a
Launch Trip on the
Kazinga Channel, where you will be able to see yawning
Hippos surrounded by
vast migrant and resident water birds. This wildlife
experience on the boat
puts one right in the heart of nature. Many Buffalos rest
in water and the
herds of Elephant enjoy drinking and playing along the
Channel Banks.
Crocodiles
are a common sight and Leopards may be seen. Back to your
hotel or Tented
Camp. Dinner & rest. FB
DAY 4*
Game Drive at 6 a.m through 200 kms of well maintained
tracks for better
viewing of animals. Some of the tracks pass through large
mating grounds of
great herds of the Uganda Kob. The drive is a breathtaking
experience as
you will see hungry Lions often searching for prey, the
forest Hog roaming
the bush and when it is hot, large herds of Buffalos and
Bushbacks can be
found on the Channel Track and adjacent circuits. The
Warthog is a Hallmark
sight on the Mweya Penisula. The outstanding scenery along
the carter track
brings you to Volcanic craters at the foothills of the
misty mountain of the
moon. Back for breakfast and rest. After lunch, go for a
forest walk in
the Maramagambo Forest. Pythons are often observed in the
crevices of Bats
Cave floor using the Bats as a cource of food. The cave is
near the hunters
cave. Other trails lead to the heart of the forest
surrounding tranquil
crater lakes and home to wild Chimpanzees, other Primates
and may forest
Birds. Back to your hotel or Tented Camp for rest and
dinner. FB
DAY 5 *
Early breakfast, You will then go for a Game Drive in
Kyambura Gorge. This
is found in the Eastern part of the protected area. You
will be able to see
the three saline crater lakes, which attracts large numbers
of Flamingos,
you will see or come across Chimpanzees , black and White
Colobus and Red
Tailed Monkeys ,Olive Baboons and primates as well as
plenty of forest
birds, all in all, the bird species are about 606. Back
for lunch. Drive
back to Entebbe check into your hotel for Dinner and
Overnight. HB
DAY 6 *
Breakfast and then drive to the airport for your
departure
